The Keralites of Cheltenham celebrated the dawn of a new era - the concept of thinking beyond the limits and boundaries and coming together under a roof to form a family to pass down the traditional cultural values to our future generations and to contribute to the society which we live in- the formation of the new association-Malayalee Association of Cheltenham (MAC).
The blessings and appreciation from Her Majesty the queen, indeed gave us the confidence to move on with our aims and to look forward to a brighter and cultural future of the union.
The worshipful Mayor of Cheltenham, Mrs. Chris Ryder formally inaugurated the association on 23rd of October 2016.
Focussing mainly on charities of the mayor, we also encourage community services including blood donation and organ donation. Organising fund raising events for charity and taking part in the welfare of community of Cheltenham gives us immense pleasure.
We give much importance to the cultural development of kids and providing opportunities for them to perform on stage. Regular classes are being delivered on Indian classical dance where children can focus on performing arts. Education and counselling of the youth is just one of our main agenda.
Being a non religious and non profitable organisation, we try to give the community a feel of the homeland and we celebrate festivals whole heartedly as one family. Recreational activities including sports activities have been organised on a regular basis.
